That is why we have developed the Itility IT Smart Factory toolkit. We use this in our IT projects that are applying a repetitive complex change to a list of key items. Key concepts include thinking in slots, throughput, firmness and “the red button”.
Factory concepts such as Control Room, Cycle time, Slot planning and Inventory management have not yet been embedded in IT. The purpose of these concepts? Make the production process even faster, smarter, and more efficient. Wouldn’t it be nice to apply these concepts to IT?
