We are on the threshold of implementing the Internet of Things in the enterprise. What role does the CIO play? The parallels between IT and the Internet of Things (IoT) are evident. If we take a closer look at the trends, IT technology turns out to play a pivotal role in the development of IoT. Many components are already familiar to us: the software, the thinking in (web) services, the security challenges, the hardware and the thinking in catalogs of semi-finished products that fulfill various functions within the IoT system.
